Second Life Educational Summer Retreat

Come join us for a day of fun in the sun with a hands-on teaching and learning
workshops to improve your Second Life teaching and learning skills!

The 2010 Second Life Summer Educational Retreat is open to all interested professionals in higher education as well as K-12 teachers will be held in the virtual world Second Life on Tuesday, July 13, by the UNC Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) Conference committee.
It will be a day of hands-on workshops to improve your virtual teaching and learning skills.
The agenda on July 13 includes five 90-minute workshop sessions plus an end-of-retreat dance in the evening on a cruse ship with fireworks.
Workshops will include:
- Marketing in Second Life,
- Creating digital art in the 3D virtual environment
- Machinima video production basics
- Digital storytelling
- A tour of the highly-acclaimed Renaissance Island simulation

Please join us at 8 a.m. and stay for the day all the way to 9 p.m. if you like, or you may come just for any of the individual sessions you prefer.
There is no fee for the workshop day. That's right, this retreat day is FREE! We want to minimize your summertime effort, so advance registration is not required.
