Presenter Support
Thank you for agreeing to participate as a presenter in the 2005 UNC Teaching and Learning with Technology Conference. We are looking forward to an exceptional conference, and we appreciate your contribution of knowledge and expertise.

We expect that program details will be posted online by Tuesday, March 1. At that time, you will be able to see the day, time, and room assigned to your session. Assignments are being made according to the times of availability you specified when you submitted your proposal. As soon as your session is scheduled, the main contact listed for your presentation will receive an email notification. Travel grant recipients will be notified in March.

Check Your Personal Details

By Sunday, March 13, please check that the details of your personal profile are correct, as much of this information will be published in the printed program and/or online conference proceedings.

Note:
  • The size of the biography field has been increased to accommodate approximately 75 words (600 characters).
Questions about your personal profile may be directed to Laura Rogers, TLTC Program Coordinator, at 919-929-0313 or lrogers@northcarolina.edu.

Check Your Presentation Details

By Sunday, March 13, please check that the following elements of your presentation proposal are up to date:
  • Title
  • Abstract
  • Target Audiences
  • Audio/Visual Requirements
  • Additional Comments
  • Presenter Information
Notes:
  • When proposal information is submitted, the web site automatically truncates presentation titles and abstracts that exceed the maximum allowable length. If the text in either of these fields has been cut off, please make appropriate adjustments. Length information is provided in the help on the proposal submission page.
  • As noted on the proposal page, the following audio/visual equipment will be available in the presentation rooms: Internet access, computer with Windows XP Professional/Office XP, video/data projector with screen, and microphone. On that page, you may indicate whether you plan to attach your own computer rather than using the one provided, and you may also request additional AV resources.
  • Proposal fields not listed above, such as your initial Session Type request, may no longer be accurate, but it is not necessary to update these fields.
Questions about audio/visual equipment may be directed to Shannon Beckerich of YCC (Your Conference Connection), at 910-452-0006 or shannon@teamycc.com.

Other questions about your presentation details may be directed to Laura Rogers, TLTC Program Coordinator, at 919-929-0313 or lrogers@northcarolina.edu.

Sign the Authorization Form

By Sunday, March 13, an Authorization to Record and Distribute Presentation form is requested for each presentation. Submission of this form allows the TLTC to:
  • Record your presentation.
  • Publish your presentation and associated materials in the online conference proceedings.

Note:

  • Signatures of all presenters, or of their proxies, must appear on the form. For example, a single presenter can sign on behalf of each of the other co-presenters, if necessary.
Completed forms should be faxed to Shannon Beckerich of YCC (Your Conference Connection) at 910-452-7834. If you are unable to download the form, or you have questions about it, you can contact Shannon at 910-452-0006 or shannon@teamycc.com.

Register for the Conference

As soon as possible, please register for the conference. All presenters AND co-presenters who will attend the conference must register and pay the appropriate registration fees.

Registration fee information and our cancellation policy are available in the Registration area of this web site.

Questions about registration may be directed to Laura Rogers, TLTC Program Coordinator, at 919-929-0313 or lrogers@northcarolina.edu.

Reserve a Hotel Room, If Needed

By Tuesday, March 8, Tuesday, March 15 (deadline has been extended) please reserve a hotel room if you will need one (follow the link to view hotel cost information). You may also wish to review the Conference Location page, which includes driving directions.

Plan Your Presentation

The Preparing to Present page is designed to assist all presenters with presentation planning issues. Special sections are provided for workshop and poster presenters.

Submit Your Presentation

By Friday, March 25, you may provide your presentation to our conference manager, YCC (Your Conference Connection), to preload on the conference computers. Here are some advantages to submitting your presentation before the conference:
  • Preloaded presentations allow for a smooth transition between speakers.
  • YCC will be able to test your presentation with the LCD computer projectors.
  • You can relax for a few days (or, spend some time polishing those handouts!).
To submit your presentation, please e-mail it to Shannon Beckerich of YCC at shannon@teamycc.com. If you are unable to e-mail your presentation due to file size, you may submit it via CD or iomega Zip Disk. The address for mailed submissions is TLTC, c/o YCC, 3904 Oleander Drive, Suite 101, Wilmington, NC  28403. Be sure to include the title of your presentation in any communication.

Please let Shannon know if you cannot meet the March 25 deadline or if you will not be submitting your presentation prior to the conference.

Questions about submitting your presentation may be directed to Shannon at 910-452-0006 or shannon@teamycc.com.

Submit Your Presentation and Materials for the Online Proceedings

By Friday, April 8, please provide electronic copies of all materials that should appear in the online conference proceedings. These might include:
  • Your presentation, if the final version was not submitted in advance of the conference.
  • Handouts and white papers.
  • Web links.
We anticipate making an online submission process available through this web site. Further details will be provided in late March.
