Sharon L. Bell, CPA, is currently an assistant professor at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke teaching financial, managerial and cost accounting. She is the 1996 and 2003 recipient of the UNC-Pembroke Outstanding Teaching Award. Sharon was recognized during 2004 by the BellSouth Foundation award for Excellence in Academic Advising. Sharon earned the B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Pembroke State University and the MBA from Campbell University. She is licensed as Certified Public Accountant by the State of North Carolina since 1990, and is a Certified Management Accountant. Sharon is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants and the American Accounting Association. Her most recent presentation “Teaching and Testing: Do They Match%3f” was presented at the 2004 American Accounting Association annual meeting Effective Learning Strategies Forum.

Chris Beorkrem is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of Architecture at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. He teaches studios and workshops in all things digital, and digital fabrication in the College's new Digital Fabrication Lab. Chris also practices design at a variety of scales including the redesign of a series of recreational vehicles, a condominium in New York, and an 18,000 Sq. Ft church in Iowa.

Dr. Betty L. Black received a B.A. degree in Biology from Lindenwood College, a M.S. degree from Vanderbilt University, and a Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis. After pursuing postdoctoral studies at Washington University Medical School, she joined the faculty at North Carolina State University in 1979 and is currently a Professor in the Department of Zoology. Her research area centers on the hormonal and nutritional control of developing intestine. She teaches courses in Development Anatomy and Histology and has taught an Internet distance education course, Functional Histology, since 1997. She has published 8 papers on teaching technology topics, presented several local and national workshops on use of multimedia learning objects and handheld, wireless computers in the classroom, and has received two University awards for “Innovative Excellence in Teaching and Learning with Technology.”

Ron Bleed was Vice Chancellor of Information Technologies for the Maricopa Community Colleges. In this role he performed as CIO for one of the largest higher education systems in the country for twenty-five consecutive years. In 2005 he received the Educause's Excellence in Leadership Award (the major award in college information technology leadership.) In regards to national leadership he was elected Chair of EDUCAUSE board for two terms and facilitated the merger of CUSE and EDUCOM into EDUCAUSE. His international experiences consisted of consultations and presentations in the Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Russia, Austria and Australia. He has been appointed to corporate advisory councils at Microsoft, Apple, DEC, HP, Oracle, and AT&T. He conducted the original research that identified the high concentration of enrollments in the "top 25" courses (or 50% of students in 1% of courses) which brought focus to strategies for instructional innovation. He has advanced the concept of "hybrid" courses through writings, presentations, and communities of interest. He supported library transformations by implementing major automation software, designing computer commons inside the library, advocating for a “social atmosphere,” improving technical processing services, and acquiring electronic information resources. He introduced ideas of new kinds of building architecture to create “social learning spaces.”
