Ed Gehringer has 18 years of experience teaching distance-education courses, and has taught more DE courses than anyone else in the NCSU College of Engineering. Jean Goeppinger, PhD,RN,FAAN is Professor at the Schools of Nursing and Public Health at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She co-teaches in the Community-Oriented Primary Care (COPC) option of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program and has had primary responsibility for designing and teaching the Community-Oriented Primary Care for Underserved Populations Course. She has incorporated online modules into her courses to allow students to remain in their communities.

Completed training with a USDA postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Worked as a Research Scientist with NASA at Kennedy Space Center. Currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at NCA&T. Particularly interested in exploring ways to translate scientific research into meaningful experiences for students.
