Nancy''''''''''''''''s interest in teaching has resulted in over 25 years of teaching experience in higher education, health and government settings. With a Masters Degree in nursing she has directed state and local projects on behalf of infants and toddlers with special needs.
This experience led her to her doctoral studies in Training and Development in the Department of Adult and Higher Education at NCSU. Her dissertation focus is culturally responsive adult online learning. She believes that online learning provides adults the potential for learning with colleagues from many backgrounds and places.
Nancy is currently a research assistant at the NCSU Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning and coordinates the Certificate of Accomplishment in Teaching for graduate teaching assistants at NCSU. In addition, she is planning and conducting online workshops for this population.

Render, who joined the UNC Office of the President in January 2000 as associate vice president for information resources, is now the Vice President for Information Resources and Chief Information Officer. In her time at UNC, Robyn has earned high marks from every major University constituency for her vast technical knowledge, her ability to work effectively with diverse groups and viewpoints, and her deep understanding of the growing potential of IT in teaching and learning. In her role, Render serves as the president's primary adviser on information technology. She oversees strategic planning and policy development for technologies that support the University's instructional, research and public service activities, and she works with IT officials on the 16 campuses to facilitate collaborative approaches to system-level technology issues. Render also works closely with the Board of Governors, the president and other senior staff members to develop University policies and programs, and serves as UNC's primary spokesperson on matters related to information technology. Render holds a master's of arts degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix and bachelor's and associate of science degrees in information systems from the University of Cincinnati. She joined AT&T in 1976 as a programmer analyst and over the next decade rose progressively to manager of systems development for AT&T Communications. In 1986, Render returned to her alma mater as director of university administrative information services. After seven years in the post, she was promoted to assistant vice president and director of the Center for Information Technology Services. In 1999 Render was recruited to North Carolina Central University to become its first chief information officer, responsible for the coordination of all IT services, computing systems and telecommunications. In January 2000 she joined the UNC Office of the President as associate vice president for information resources, with primary responsibility for administering strategic IT initiatives relating to student services and administrative systems, as well as networks and networking services for UNC and its constituent institutions. Render is active in various regional and national professional organizations relating to higher education and information technologies. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Educause Board of Directors and is a member of the Cary Academy Board of Directors. She has written and spoken widely on technology and quality management in higher education and has consulted for other universities on the integration of technology in teaching and learning.

David Segal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Professions of the College of Health & Public Affairs with a joint appointment in the Department of Medical Education of the College of Medicine at the University of Central Florida. He teaches both on-campus and online courses, using collaborative learning with the students in both modes and between courses.
Dr. Segal conducts research in two major areas: Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and HIV-1 neuropathogenesis. His SoTL research focuses on the delivery and assessment of student learning and decision-making skills, synchronous learning networks and distance education, collaborative learning, medical simulations, case-based pedagogy strategies, decision support systems, and infrastructures for future educational software. His HIV-1 research focuses on the identification of novel viral strain neuropathogenic signatures and their implication in vaccine development. He has published many articles in these and other areas. He is also active as a reviewer for several journals.
Dr. Segal is also the Undergraduate Program Director for the Health Sciences Pre-clinical Allied Health degree which prepares students for graduate clinical study. He holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of South Florida College of Medicine.

William Wendt is an adjunct instructor in economics and statistics at UNCP and Randolph CC He taught as an assistant professor at The American University, as an adjunct at Johns Hopkins, Loyola College, and Fairleigh Dickinson University in NJ. He has a BBA cum laude in accounting from the Un of Miami, an MS in econometrics from Purdue and all work except half a dissertation for the PhD from Purdue.
He was Controller for The Rouse Company, a division manager The Ryland Group, and a corporate Senior Vice President in commercial real estate investment for Prudential and Travelers.

Dr. Larry Nash White is an Assistant Professor and the MLS Program Director at East Carolina University''''''''s Department of Library Science and Instructional Technology. Prior to that, Dr. White worked as an administrator in retail management, government agencies, and public and academic libraries. He is an internationally invited speaker and presenter on such topics as library performance, leadership, assessment, and competition for service and consults with libraries and non-profit organizations. He has published in the areas of performance assessment, competitive response, and financial management of libraries.
