He also co-directs the IEEE Virtual Instructor Pilot Research Group (VIPRG) www.viprg.org, a 30 member international research group for developing standards for building virtual instructors for interactive mixed reality learning environments. He also chairs for the Virtual Instructor and Juxtopia Urban Learning Technology conferences. He is published, worldwide, in various IEEE journals/conferences in learning technology. Dr. Doswell received his Ph.D. in from George Mason University.

Dr. DuVall is Director of the ECU Technology Advancement Center, an R&D incubator and test bed that conducts applied research on distance, mobile and hybrid learning. DuVall previously directed the Center for Wireless and Mobile Computing; OWLS (Online Wireless Learning Solutions); and the ARPA/TRP Defense Industry Partnership Project. He is the author of Contemporary Manufacturing Processes—Automation, Materials and Packaging; Communication Technology—Getting the Message, and a variety of e-books and articles.
