Second Life Orientation Sessions Participants
Do you have what it takes to attend the Conference? Let's find out!
The 2010 UNC TLT Conference will be hosted entirely in Second Life! Take some time to attend an orientation session, this will help you feel more comfortable with the technology, cause fewer interruptions during the presentations and ensure that your computer has what it takes to connect to the conference sessions.
We strongly suggest you attend an orientation even if you are somewhat experienced with Second Life, since you will most likely learn new skills and will also receive conference-specific information and free items for your avatar!
This session will cover the basics of navigation and communication in Second Life, including flying, teleporting, chatting and setting up your sound. You will also receive specific information on getting help, accessing conference locations, receiving and utilizing notices, accessing multimedia...and don't forget, free items for your avatar!
During this time we will help you learn the basic skills needed to attend the conference, as well as help you set up your sound so you can hear the presentations. Please be sure to have created your avatar and downloaded the Second Life program as listed above, prior to your session. The orientation material will also be at the above location starting ????????, to take as asynchronous session (on your own time) if desired.
REMINDER: While there is no registration fee, presenters and participants are still required to register for the conference.
